More of a tack show-off post than anything. I finally got my Trooper after waiting for what seemed like forever (every dealer was sold out) and I've been dying to get him under saddle as a roached-maned part draft cavalry mount (yes, I'm aware that his body type is better suited to the British cavalry and he's under American tack... shh.)
This set is a combination of a Breyer McClellan cavalry saddle set, a custom made 1:9 scale McClellan set purchased on eBay a while back, and my own personal work. Changes include:
Bridle completely rebuilt, including Rio Rondo cavalry bit and cotton lead
Added breastcollar and attachment rings
Added bedroll, canteen, and tin cup
Added "brass" fittings for straps for bedroll
It won a second place at Breyerfest a few years back on a Rachel Alexandra, for what it's worth.
